"Homework is any activity which students are expected to complete outside of their lesson time"

The purpose of Homework is to:

• Consolidate, reinforce and extend classroom learning

• Develop skills confidence and motivation which will support independent lifelong learning.

• Enable students to manage their time and the demands of coursework

• Inform and involve parents in their children's learning

Homework timetable:

Year Group:	Minutes spent on homework each night:
7/8	45 - 90 minutes
9	60 - 120 minutes
10/11	90 - 150 minutes
12/13	5 hours a day (this includes the use of private study periods)

All subjects are expected to set homework according to the published timetable and group tutors must ensure that this is transferred to students study planners.
