Key Stage 3 Personalised Learning Programme 2008/09
The New Key Stage 3 National Curriculum introduced by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) in 2007 came into force in September 2008 for Year 7 students. Main aims underpinning the New Curriculum are that young people will become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. In achieving these aims it is recognized that young people need to be given opportunities to experience themselves and the world around them.
In year 7, 8 and 9 students will have the opportunity to explore five different projects focusing on the themes of creativity, sustainability, business and enterprise, health and fitness and cultural diversity. These projects will promote students to work in teams, developing leadership and communication skills. They will be encouraged to take positive risks, to think creatively and independently, to set individual targets for progress and reflect on their learning.
