Team Dance is a celebration of talent within Chalfonts Community College. We have students skilled in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Street, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Gymnastics, Cheerleading etc. I wanted to embrace this talent and so Team Dance was formed!

Two teams competed; The A Team and Fusion.  I gave them the theme Newspapers as a starting point for their choreography and they based their dances on articles, headlines, breaking news, and adverts that feature in the newspaper. The team captains Maisie Morris, Tash Ward, Demi Marks, Annie Morris, Eva Whittall, Kate Dore and Megan Morris had full control in leading their teams and producing amazing choreography! The judges; Grace Adderley (professional dancer) Laura-Jane Hall (Challoner’s Dance Teacher) and Beth Makerness (ex Chalfonts student) had a tricky decision in choosing the winner of Team Dance 2016, but in the end they awarded Team Fusion, led by Maisie Morris and Tash Ward.

Malachi Mawadzi won best solo dance, with Summer Yallop as runner up and Megan Morris’ team won best group dance for choreographing the opening number ‘Newsies’.
