KS3 Tasks

Art

  • Find an artist that you particularly like.  Complete a research page on this artist.  Include: Their name as a title in an appropriate font (www.dafont.com); some information about them and their artwork; a drawn copy of your favourite piece of their work;  at least 2 other found printed out copies of their work and your own analysis- what do you like about the work you have researched?  Talk about the use of colour, line, space, shape, texture, composition (form), light (tone and shadow).
  • Complete a painting/drawing in a coloured media of your choice of a family member in the style of your favourite artist.
  • Take 10 photographs of things you would find in a landscape (trees, wildlife, natural forms) and present as a contact sheet in your sketchbook.  Print the best photograph out and say why you have chosen it.

  • Create an artwork inspired by your wider reading, writing a 200 word rationale to accompany the task, explaining why you have designed the artwork in the way you have, to reflect the text.
  • Select a character from a book you are reading. Write a short story from their perspective, retelling an event from the book.
  • You have been asked to give a speech to a group of year 9 students who have refused to go to school. Write a speech in which you present your viewpoints on the importance of a ‘good’ education.

  • Create a Chalfonts Community College Race 4 Life poster to raise the awareness of the Chalfonts 5K Walk/Run (22nd March)
  • Create three different projects that The Chalfonts Community College could do to have better links with the community. You can include:
    • Research on what other community projects are completed by schools.
    • How would the school set up your project?
    • Who would benefit from the project?
    • Posters to raise awareness of the project.
  • Entrepreneur project- Imagine you have been given £500 to try and make as much money as possible to improve student’s lunch times. This could be creating a product or offering a service. You need to:
    • Explain how CCC could improve lunch times.
    • How could you spend the money to try and raise as much money as possible for the school? This could be a product or service e.g. cleaning cars or creating scented candles
    • Research your idea. Where will you buy the products etc. to start up?
    • Explain how you would market your idea. This means how you will get people to know about your project / product that you are selling. Create logos/ slogans and posters that you could put up
  • If you could change one thing in the school what would it be? Create a design of your idea and explain how you could get funding to make this happen.
  • Organise a charity day for the whole school. Explain what charity you would like to support and why. What event/s would you organise for the day to raise as much money as possible? How would you promote the day?
