On behalf of students and staff, I would like to welcome you to The Chalfonts Community College. I am proud to be the Principal of this school where students of all abilities are welcomed, and we seek the best from every student. We work hard to inspire students to love learning and all we do is linked to this. At our core are lessons that inspire students and allow students to discover that they are capable of more than even they themselves thought possible...
Year 10
I am currently in my first year of studying for my GCSEs. Attending The Chalfonts Community College has been an amazing experience. I was welcomed into a beautiful community dedicated to excellence and creativity: The Chalfonts Community College has provided me with the relevant skills and knowledge to help me become a hard-working and diligent individual. The school has not just assisted me with my academic journey but has helped me grow in many different ways.
The teachers at the school have been extremely supportive throughout my time here, and I am so grateful to have staff members that are always by my side. I always know that I can trust my teachers with anything, and they will always understand and try to help me the best they can. Whether exploring fantastic science labs, delving deep into literature and the top art classrooms, there is something for everyone. The teachers encourage the students to think critically, solve complex problems, and approach challenges from multiple different ways.
Year 10
I joined Chalfont in 2020 in Year 7. I've quite enjoyed my years at this school so far. When I was in Year 7, we got a new PE and IT teacher; he has always been my favourite teacher. He has the ability to teach lessons and, at the same time, make them fun and interesting. He makes a big difference to my learning journey. He is now my Sports Science teacher, and I trust he will help me pass my GCSEs. The College also has a good supportive atmosphere in Learning and the Pastoral teams to support students. The Chalfonts Community College has many extracurricular activities, such as netball, football, dance, and athletics clubs. I have participated in all of these, but I especially enjoy athletics and the competitions for it.
There are many different cultures and backgrounds at The Chalfonts Community College. Last year, many Ukrainians joined our school and settled here. I have so many memories of this school. My favourite is when my friends and I did the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition. We walked for 2 days, we cooked our own food, and set up our own tents. Despite not having any phones or electronics, I enjoyed just talking with my friends for hours and everyone coming together on the campsite to play netball. Overall, my experience at The Chalfonts Community College has been great and very memorable.
Year 13
I chose to stay on at The Chalfonts Community College for 6th Form to study Physics, Maths and Spanish. The classes are small, and the teachers work hard alongside you. They want you to do well and care about your education. You are also trusted with more independence and given more freedom in the 6th Form. For example, when I’m not in lessons, I do independent work in the study centre, and you can sign out and leave the college site during the day as long as you pass the ‘Health Check’ each term.
In addition to study, the 6th Form offers many opportunities beyond the curriculum to help with your personal development. For example, I took part in a mentoring scheme and mentored a Year 8 student to help him improve his behaviour. I also went to Canada on the ski trip and the school also does The World Challenge expedition – last year they went to Bali.
In conclusion, if you choose The Chalfonts Community College for 6th Form I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.
Year 13
I am currently in Year 13 and Head Girl at Chalfont's Community College. I wanted to take a moment to share why I decided to stay at The Chalfonts for my A levels. When it came to choosing a college, staying at The Chalfonts Community College was my top choice as I felt comfortable and familiar with the teachers here, which made the transition from GCSE to A level much smoother. Moreover, The Chalfonts offered all the subjects I wanted to study, particularly A level Psychology, which some schools don't offer.
The 6th Form is also very different from the lower school, with smaller classes, more focused learning, extra support from teachers and more independence. Staying at CCC also allowed me to take part in a World Challenge trip to Bali last year, which is an unforgettable memory. Lastly, choosing 6th Form at The Chalfonts Community College not only provided me with academic support but also opened my eyes to future opportunities. Whether it's university, apprenticeships or entering the world of work, the 6th Form at The College prepares you well for your future pathway.
Year 13
I joined The Chalfonts Community College 6th Form in September 2022 when I moved here from Ukraine. These two years of 6th Form have been very special for me. The teachers have always been very kind and supportive and the lessons have always been productive and interesting. All the new people I’ve met at 6th Form are now my good friends and are amazing as I always have fun with them. I will definitely miss The Chalfonts Community College, including all of the people I’ve met and all of the experience I’ve had.
