Yr7 Visit to Boulogne

On June 23rd a group of fifty Year 7 students spent the day in the north of France.

It was a very early departure in the middle of the night as we made our way to the ferry port. We arrived in Calais and then drove down to Boulogne Sur mer which is a beautiful seaside town. After a walk around the old town we had lunch on the beach. We then visited boulangerie Le Fournil where we had a tour and learnt how to make bread and croissants. Finally we spent some time in Cité Europe which is a huge shopping centre, before making our way home late at night. It was a great day and all students had a fantastic time. Both journeys on the ferry our group was complimented for their politeness and exemplar behaviour. Well Done!

Students:

“The French trip was the best school trip I have been on. We were allowed to walk around the town with our friends. We went to the shops to buy what we wanted and practised our French.”  James

“I enjoyed hearing French in an authentic environment. I liked buying things using French. I also liked making bread in the bakery.”  Daniel

“When we went to France I enjoyed being with my friends and visiting amazing places. My favourite place was in the shopping centre as we had to be responsible and were able to use our French if we needed help.”  Lily-May
