Curriculum

Intent

At The Chalfonts Community College, our aim is for our students to leave as well-rounded individuals who can make decisions about their future, confident that they have the knowledge and skills that they need to thrive in further or higher education. We want them to be ready for a life beyond school – to be employable and able to participate as engaged citizens.

Implementation

The curriculum at the College is constructed to engage and motivate students to fulfil their full potential and be excited about being a lifelong learner. All students receive a firm foundation in English, Mathematics and Science, complemented by a broad and balanced curriculum with the flexibility of a mixture of subjects, in order to meet the full range of abilities and interests of our students.

Students choose their options for Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) at the end of Year 9.

Impact

Moreover, we believe that our local context is such that we should be the first choice school for students who want to participate in a curriculum that is built to meet the demands of the 21st century.
