We enjoyed a celebration with the remote control car club team members on Thursday 14th July. This was to congratulate them on their hard work building the cars they will use for the club.
We took 12 students ranging from Years 9 to 12 to visit British Airways Terminal 5 to participate in “The Art of Flying – Customer Service” workshop. On Thursday, 14th July we delivered the final part of the ‘World of Work’ Programme to the Year 6 students of the Chalfont St Peter Academy. The aim of the programme is to encourage students to explore lots of different jobs and to consider the skills required to carry out the roles.
Starting early, 47 Year 7 students left school to begin their day out at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley in the Midlands.
PTeam Dance is a celebration of talent within Chalfonts Community College. We have students skilled in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Street, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Gymnastics, Cheerleading etc. I wanted to embrace this talent and so Team Dance was formed!
Year 10 boys successfully won the Bucks STEM Challenge Day in July 2015 and went on to represent Bucks in the STEM Challenge Southern final, held on 13th January 2016 at Kings College London. The competition saw them compete against 13 other schools in Southern England.
On Friday 11th December 39 Year 10 students visited the Christmas Market in Lille, France. Despite a long journey the students were exceptionally well behaved and the staff and students had a fantastic time. The students completed a “selfie trail” where they had to take photos with different things that had been described to them in French. They then had some free time to explore the market with a quick crepe and a go on the ferris wheel thrown in too. Overall, a fantastic day in France.
The Art department took 38 Fine Art and Photography Year 12/13 students on a wonderful trip to Amsterdam. They visited some of the best galleries and sights in the world including The Rijks Museum, The Eye Film Institute, The Van Gogh Museum and The Anne Frank Foundation to name just a few.
Twenty passionate and motivated key stage 5 geographers travelled to Iceland, the ‘Land of Fire and Ice.’ This fieldtrip was a unique and educational experience for all involved. A small recollection of this amazing journey is provided here for you.
The purpose of the Employability Day was to provide information to students to help them consider their next step, post 16. We had a few workshops running and were also joined by a number of guests from outside organisations.
During the summer holidays 6 students travelled with a teacher to Beijing to learn more about Chinese history & culture, while practising their Mandarin.
