Sixth Form Taster Day Inspires Year 11 Students

Discover. Experience. Prepare for Sixth Form success.

Year 11 students recently enjoyed an exciting and insightful Sixth Form Taster Day, designed to give them a genuine experience of what Post-16 study is really like.

Throughout the day, students took part in a range of Sixth Form lessons, experiencing first-hand the increased independence, new subject content and different teaching styles that distinguish Sixth Form learning from Key Stage 4. The sessions provided a valuable opportunity to explore potential subject choices and gain a clearer understanding of the expectations and opportunities that come with the next stage of their education.

The Taster Day also highlighted the breadth of subjects available within our Sixth Form. With a wide range of academic and vocational pathways on offer, students are able to select courses that suit their interests, strengths and future aspirations.

In addition, students were introduced to our dedicated Study Centre — a key feature of Sixth Form life — which supports independent learning and encourages students to take greater ownership of their studies. Developing strong independent study skills is essential preparation for higher education and future careers, and our Sixth Form environment is designed to nurture these qualities.

The day was both inspiring and informative, and we hope it has helped students feel confident and excited about the choices ahead. We look forward to supporting them as they take the next important step in their educational journey.
