Application Process

Key requirements:

  • GCSE English grade C or above
  • GCSE Maths grade C or above
  • An honours level degree in a related subject with a classification of at least a 2.2
  • At least 5 days of experience in a secondary school context. An additional 5 days may be requested as a condition of an offer of a place for successful applicants. See ‘First Steps’ page for advice on how to set up your school visits

The application process is through UCAS and once your application has arrived with us we will consider your suitability for the programme. The first part of our application process is to spend a day in one of our schools where you will tour the school, meet key people and teach a lesson. Information regarding the lesson will be sent to you in advance. If you are successful at this point you will then be invited in for a panel interview. This will take place at The Chalfonts Community College. You will also be required to complete a writing task.

There is a pre application task which you will be required to bring to the interview. This will demonstrate your ability to reflect on your experiences in school. This will be sent with the invitation for interview.
