Martin Baker Work Experience in half term for Years 10-13 students

Engineering work experience at Martin-Baker during the October half term. This will be running Tuesday 25th – Thursday 27th October. The students must be able to attend all days to be considered. Martin-Baker are looking for students from years 10 – 13 with a keen interest in Engineering. They will learn about the organisation and work with a number of departments on an engineering project over the course of the 3 days.

Careers in Business Work Experience

Do you see yourself as a future entrepreneur managing your own multi-million enterprise one day? Perhaps you’d like to pursue a career as a businessman or woman for a huge multinational organisation?

Fantastic 2-day virtual Careers in Business work experience headlined by the University of Law’s Business School, taking place on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th of July from 10:00am - 4:00pm.

You will hear from several global employers including data technology giants Experian, Europe’s biggest bank HSBC, internationally renowned investment bank and financial services company Goldman Sachs and the $45 billion
turnover professional services firm PwC.

The University of law is one of the UK’s longest-established specialist academic institutions and in 2016 they opened their leading Business School. They too will be running a mock lecture-style session designed to give students a taste of what it’s like studying business at university.

Following on from the 2 days online, on Friday 29th of July, the University of Law will be opening all of their 5 university business locations for an in-person business-focused day. If you want to be a part of this, you’d be more
than welcome to drop in for the day.

Ahead Tuition has a fantastic work experience opportunity for students between the ages of 15 - 21 years.

Transition School is an amazing project designed to support primary school students moving to secondary school. We all know what it was like moving to a bigger school and for some of us it really was stressful. We are building an awesome team to help support these students this summer. The week involves students from a range of different schools joining us for four days and engaging in a range of workshops. We focus on developing key skills that students will require to have a successful transition into secondary school. 

Where: Chiltern Hills Academy, Chesham

Time: 8.30 am - 2.30 pm

It is a voluntary position but it is really a fantastic opportunity to help develop your skills and understanding of work
life over four days. It's a unique opportunity which will require you to use a variety of skills in unusual conditions.
You'll be working with a fantastic team of people as well as having the responsibility of working by yourself over the
week.

Tuesday 12th of April from 9:00am - 4:00pm.  The work experience day will provide an insight into the logistics industry and life at Kuehne+Nagel, a global transport and logistics company with over 74,000 employees at 1,400 locations in over 100 countries.  With global revenues of $20 billion, the Kuehne+Nagel Group is one of the world’s leading logistics companies providing sea, air, road and rail logistics services to virtually all key industry sectors including Aerospace, Automotive, High Tech, Healthcare, Food and Drinks, Forest Products, Marine logistics and Industry.

We’ll be covering everything from integrated logistics and contract logistics to their top tips to help you get career ready! We’ll even cover how Kuehne+Nagel are working to make the world of logistics a more sustainable and diverse place.

2022 Work Experience Programme

Years 9-13

Applications NOW OPEN – EXTENDED - CLOSES 13 MARCH 2022

The HSBC Work Experience programme offers a five-day experience to students in the later years of full-time secondary education, sixth form or college. The programme has been set up with the idea to help young people from different social-economic backgrounds to gain an insight into a professional environment, as well as the banking industry.

In response to COVID and the resulting new way of working this programme will be a blended experience, with both a virtual and a physical experience (where available), giving you an insight into the future way of working.

The programme will be run virtually for 4 days, where students can gain insight into the different roles and functions across HSBC, as well as improving their personal and employability skills.

Where physical placements are available, the student will spend the day within a function getting hands on experience of what it is like working for HSBC.  These physical placements will be available across different functions of the bank across the UK

The programme is going to run on the following weeks

Dates:   Week commencing 20th June 2022

                                 Week commencing 4th July 2022

                              Week commencing 1st August 2022    

Students can list their location preferences when applying, but please note that we cannot make any guarantees on placing a student in their preferred location as this is subject to availability.

The closing date for applications is 20th February 2022, however we do offer these on a rolling basis and do reserve the right to close some adverts early if we fill all our spaces. Places are limited so we recommend students apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
